Well, our little pearl of a girl did not want to go to bed at her usual time tonight. Nope. Veda decided to stay up for a bit for some Friday night giggles and monkey business. Granted, she did go down by 9:30pm, which is far from anything to complain about. And, she was a riot. She now deftly pulls herself up to standing using anything strong enough to hold her weight, and then lowers herself back down slowly, only to pull back up to standing, and repeat. She thinks it is hilarious. We think it's pretty hilarious too. She just looks so proud of herself, as she should, it's a big step after all! She's starting to slowly cruise the furniture, figuring out that if she moves her body the right way, she can grab those shiny keys or alluring remote control. It's hard to keep up with the rate at which she can tear the house apart. So I don't. Keep up, that is. Tonight's monkey business also involved some peek-a-boo, copious tickling, and lot's of I'm-having-lots-of-fun-mama-but-I-am-secretly-tired moments of resting her head on pillows or chests.
Strangely, I completely forgot to mention the development of teeth! While visiting in Iowa over May Day, her first two teeth (bottom center) finally cut through. Man those babies are sharp! It explains a lot about the clinging, whining, and overall neediness of the week before. I am saved during those times by the Ergo, where Veda is content to ride out the day like a little 'roo. Those little teeth have since found their way up to their full stature - but I have yet to manage to get a photo! Soon soon. This mama has been busy and tired, not a good combo for keeping up on photos and blogs. I do have a set of 9 month shots I took on our front lawn that were posted on facebook, yet not cross posted here. There show lots of pointing and jabbering. Point and jabber. "Dah!"
