CA trip: San Fernando Valley

After a lovely overnight in San Clemente, we headed north to the SF Valley to spend some time with California grandparents Wanda and Doug. One of our stops included lunch at the historic Bob's Big Boy in Burbank. It had been years since I'd been there. It was a fun afternoon, even despite the tragedy of not being able to indulge in the best blue cheese dressing on the planet.

Visitors. We were blessed with visitors while staying in LA. The most noteworthy of course, was the
gathering of the four generations of women (picture below). It was a treat to introduce miss Veda to her great-grandmother, Ethel. Veda also got to meet dear family friend Teri Mann, great uncle Frank (not pictured), and second cousin Lila.

Here comes the sun.
What a brilliantly gorgeous January day. Veda got to put her feet in the grass for the first time. As you might tell by the look on her face, I don't think she liked it much. Maybe prickly grass is an acquired taste, only appreciated after experiencing a summer's worth of sunshine and play.
