Playing catch up. Isn't it always the case? I think working catch up is more accurate. Life at the Madtown Stacer homestead is good. VP is a crabbing machine. She sprints as fast as her crabbing will allow, leaving in her wake a tornado of things you didn't even know existed. Mon petit tornado. She jib jabbers away, entertaining herself for surprisingly long periods. We've started attending a Music Together class, which so far Veda loves. There's lots of singing and dancing, tapping out rhythms and copying tonal patterns. At the end of the class a big bag of little instruments is dumped onto the mat where the kids experiment with holding and playing them, or sometimes just sticking them in their mouths. Hey even Thom Yorke had to start off somewhere, right? Clark is a couple weeks into his new job at alice.com, and this threesome has transitioned rather smoothly to new routines. Veda even decided she would start taking real naps again. Just in time to save her mama a sliver of daytime sanity.
The best update of all is -- Spring has sprung! Good lord, it's about time. The grass is greening itself (yes, I said greening), the patio furniture is ready for lazy bodies, baby sunblock is purchased, and visits to the park are increasing in frequency. Our neighborhood puts on a little easter egg hunt for the kids every year, and yesterday was our first time 'hunting', if by hunting you mean pointing to the brightly colored egg on the grass in the infant section of the hunt. Turns out Veda is still not a fan of grass. Sigh. She hasn't shown any other tactile dislikes, but grass, so far that one seems to baffle her. Here are some photos. :)
