CA trip: music education.

Besides the excellent company, one of the best things about staying with Nathan & Anita Weedmark is the music. Listening to music, playing music, talking about music, pawing the various instruments. I never leave without learning at least one new thing about music, either formally or by virtue of temporarily cohabitating with accomplished players and like-minded friends. We hoped for Veda to absorb it like the little sponge she is.






This was Veda's first time on the piano, and not just any piano... a Steinway baby grand. Apparently Veda gets her inspiration from Thelonius Monk. Notice the space between the notes, the abrubt, dramatic use of silence and hesitation, the sharp attack. ;-)
